We are excited to invite you to POWDER’s first installment in our event series: BEING BRAVE! Please join us for an inspiring speaker who will share insights about her journey, what she has learned along the way and her thoughts on how we foster the next generation of leaders. These conversations are for all of us – men and women – in how we can be better leaders and colleagues by understanding and supporting one another.
Women have made strides toward workplace equality in many industries in America, but until recently the ski industry has lagged behind. However, Vail Resorts is exceptional in both the number of women who have worked their way to the top and in the launching of a new program designed to encourage more women to seek careers and leadership positions in the ski business.
Right now across our Company we are preparing for the North American winter season. Keystone has already opened, in Colorado we had record snowfall in October, we are welcoming our seasonal employees, anticipation is building, and our snow guns are fired up. So it is only appropriate that in this episode of Epic By Nature, we explore the story of our snowmakers and snowmaking.
The snow is falling early and our extraordinary team of snowmakers has been working hard, which is why we are excited to announce that we are opening Keystone on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019. While I am just excited as you to officially begin the season, we want to prioritize our guests’ time on the mountain, so we are putting in place employee and dependent pass restrictions for Saturdays and Sundays.
Together, we achieved our goal of producing less than 500 pounds of waste directed to landfill - which amounted to diverting nearly 50% of all waste produced at the event from the landfill!
Our very own Chief Marketing Officer, Kirsten Lynch, has been named to Forbes’ second annual CMO Next list of 50 Game-Changing Marketing Leaders.
