Breckenridge Ticket Scanning Manager, Ryan M., received an Educational Ascent scholarship in the summer of 2023. This scholarship helped Ryan cover costs for his associate degree in business. Ryan shared, “I started my secondary education at the Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, where I began a program for Applied Physics with the intent to transfer to Penn State University after three years to obtain a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. After two years in the program, I realized this career path was not for me. I decided to move to Breckenridge and take a position as a ticket scanner for one season. I absolutely loved the position, resort, and industry and knew I wanted a career in resort management. After over a decade of working hard and receiving several promotions, I knew it was time to return to college. I enrolled in Colorado Mountain College to pursue my associate of arts: business emphasis degree. Once I have attained this goal, I plan to move on to a bachelor's degree program in business management. I hope the degree will assist me with my advancement at Vail Resorts and ability to be a leader. I truly appreciate everything the EpicPromise Employee Foundation's donors and volunteers have done for our employees!”
