ON THE RECORD | UDPATED RECORDS RETENTION SCHEDULE

The Records Retention Schedule indicates how long Vail Resorts must keep various kinds of documents/records and when they must be destroyed. Here’s how it affects you:

What is the Records Retention Schedule?
The Records Retention Schedule indicates how long Vail Resorts must keep various kinds of documents/records and when they must be destroyed (unless Records Management is notified that the specific records are being held for a specific legal reason).

Where can I find the Records Retention Schedule?
The Records Retention Schedule is posted to Legal Department’s Records Management page and is updated every other year. (Note: you must be on the Vail Resorts network to access this page.)

What about my Personal Reference Files?
All of us keep certain things for our daily work so we can refer to them year over year. Whatever type of reference document you have, it is likely classified as “Reference Material” so you can generally keep it as long as at remains relevant to you. Of course, be sure to shred it when you are done with it!
