NEW HEALTH SCREENING PROCESS LAUNCHES NOV. 2

In order to minimize COVID-19 exposure amongst our employees and guests, we have determined that the safest approach for health screenings this season will be to require all employees to complete them at home before coming on-site to our resorts and any other Vail Resorts location for work.

This new process will go into effect on Monday, Nov. 2, and applies to all current, new and returning employees. The updated SOP will be assigned to all employees in PolicyTech, our new policy portal, beginning on Monday. Employees will also receive additional details and resources as part of Ready for Winter training, also launching on Nov. 2.

Health Screening Changes Effective Nov. 2:

  • All employees who are currently working on-site will be provided a digital thermometer to support their at-home health screening.

    • Employees will receive their thermometer directly from their manager. For employees starting after Nov. 2, they will pick up their thermometer on their first day on-site.
    • Managers are responsible for distribution of thermometers to employees on their first day on-site after Nov. 2.
    • We will identify and communicate the process for employees who return on-site at a future date, including Broomfield-based employees and all other employees who are working remotely, in the near future.

  • Beginning the day after you receive your thermometer, before coming on-site for any work-related activities or shifts, you will use your computer or mobile device to log in to EpicEmployee (via web or the app), click on the health screening tile, confirm you do not have a temperature above 100.4 F and respond to a series of self-check questions regarding symptoms (step by step instructions available here). Employees without access to a personal device at home will still ask themselves the questions at home and take their temperature, and then enter the results in EpicEmployee once they are onsite; please discuss your situation with your manager when you pick-up your thermometer.

  • Hourly employees will automatically have paid time entered into their timesheet for each completed screening. You do not need to clock in while completing your screening but will be required to clock in once you begin your shift.

  • If you pass the assessment, you’ll receive a digital badge you will need to show your manager.

  • If you fail the assessment, you will not be permitted to work. You will be provided detailed instructions on next steps and will be required to open a case in Direct Connect. The case will enable central management of emergency sick leave (if applicable) and return to work. Your manager will be notified of your exclusion for the day, it is also your responsibility to notify your leader for any day that you are excluded from work.

  • For additional information, please visit the Ready for Winter tile in EpicEmployee.

We know these changes will require adjustments to everyone’s routines, but we believe this is the safest approach for protecting each other and our communities and has never been more important. Thank you for your commitment to the wellbeing of each other and our guests.
