INFOSEC UPDATE: DELIVERY APP PHISHING SCAMS

Cyber criminals are now taking advantage of the surge in online food ordering by sending out phishing emails with these lures. These phishing emails usually come in the form of a survey offering you a discount on your next order as an incentive. Sometimes, you will be asked to log into your app or website account which results in the attacker gaining your login credentials.

Use caution if you receive an email from Postmates, DoorDash, UberEats, etc. that contains a link or attachment. Your best bet is to go to the app or website’s home page to verify that it is a legitimate offer rather than clicking anything in an email. Remember that a reputable company will not ask for your personal information over email, phone, or text.

If you receive a suspected phishing email on your Vail Resorts email account, be sure to report it to the Information Security team using the PhishAlarm button in Microsoft Outlook.
