EMPLOYEE & DEPENDENT PASS RESTRICTIONS IN COLORADO

Controlling capacity on our mountains is a key objective of our safety-first approach. Unfortunately, natural snowfall in Colorado is below average for this time of year. While we are still actively making snow, these challenging conditions have limited our ability to open terrain and accommodate the number of guests we had planned for this weekend. In order to prioritize guest safety and provide enough space to remain physically distanced, we are restricting employee and dependent passes for Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone on both Saturday, Dec. 12, and Sunday, Dec. 13. Please note we have had to cancel a limited number of guest reservations at Breckenridge as well. As many of you know, restricting employee passes is something that has happened in prior years as well when we do not have enough terrain open in the early season, but we understand it is disappointing anytime it’s necessary.

During these restricted days, only employees who are working will be allowed on the mountain. For employees who are working, skiing and riding are only permitted as required to perform your job duties. Dependent children who are enrolled in seasonal ski school programs at Breckenridge will be permitted to participate and will be provided with a complimentary day ticket upon check-in for their lesson, as their dependent pass will not work. Employees who have booked lodging this weekend will be eligible for a full refund. If you choose to cancel your lodging reservation, please do so immediately by calling reservations or canceling online.

We are very disappointed to ask this of our employees and their families and appreciate your support of our safety and prioritizing our guests right now. We have a long season ahead and we are hopeful the weather will improve so we can open more terrain. Thank you for your cooperation as we navigate a season like no other with a focus firmly on safety first.
