Celebrating Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with Eileen Gu

Our company is on a journey to foster a culture that embodies our Be Inclusive value. In honor of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) Heritage Month throughout May, we are highlighting stories that acknowledge, honor and celebrate the contributions and achievements of Asian and Pacific Islander communities.
Meet Eileen Gu, an 18-year-old freestyle skier from San Francisco who hopes to use sports to form a cross-cultural bond that inspires young women in China. The young skier is a rising star after winning gold medals at notable events, including the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, Freestyle Ski World Cup and the X Games. Born to a Chinese mother, Eileen’s appreciation for her Chinese roots led her to the decision to compete for China in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. By representing her mother's home country in the 2022 Winter Olympics, Eileen said that “Through skiing, I hope to unite people, promote common understanding, create communication, and forge friendships between nations.” Stay up-to-date with Eileen Gu on Instagram.
